Valentine Fortune Cookies
A fun simple Valentines craft is to make Valentine fortune cookies with Speed-Sew and felt fabric.
Want to make something for your honey that won’t cost a lot of money. I’m talking about making an impression on Valentine’s Day. Before you go out and buy just a regular boring gift that screams, “Sorry I’m so lame – I didn’t really try” I’m going to show you how to make your own gift that screams “Look how thoughtful I am – And I didn’t have to buy.”
So let me show you how to make romantic felt Valentine fortune cookies … and you won’t even need to sew it!
For this romantic and thoughtful gift all you’re going to need is a:
- Pair of fabric shears (or just a good, strong pair of scissors)
- Red felt
- Floral wire
- Speed-Sew
Step #1: Grab the scissors and cut a circle shape out of the felt. We want to make it about 4 inches in diameter.
Step #2: Next we cut a piece of the floral wire slightly shorter than the diameter of the circle.
Step #3: We then cut a strip of felt that’s the same length as the wire, to cover it.
Step #4: Now we’re going to use some Speed-Sew to glue the wire across the centre of the circle of felt.
Step #5: Put the strip of felt over the wire. We can add a bit of speed-sew to it if necessary.
Step #6: Now we wait about 30 minutes for the glue to completely dry. We can continue making more at this point and we can also write your note(s).
Step #7: When it’s completely dry pinch the wire together to form the fortune cookie shape by angling the sides toward each other, bending the wire at its halfway point.
Step #8: Carefully peel back one flap of the felt cookie and put your note inside. You could also insert candy/candies. Fold the flap back over to close the cookie around the contents.
And there you have it – romantic Valentine fortune cookies. Guaranteed to keep you out of the dog house and turn your girlfriend or boyfriend into your spouse. Alright, maybe I can’t guarantee that, but what I can promise you that your chances of getting laid will increase significantly.
Leave me a comment on our blog post telling me what you think about these felt Valentine fortune cookies or other ideas you’ve thought of for Valentine’s Day gifts that don’t require sewing!
I wrote the following email to your company….
Dear Sir:
I am a Grandma who purchased two tubes of glue from your site recently and was enjoying getting the emails since I have lots of fun with crafts. However, the email I read this morning was NOT enjoyable. Included was the phrase “I can promise you that your chances of getting laid will increase significantly.” Was that really necessary? I found it offensive. These emails should be suitable for the general public, even young people. At the least it was unprofessional.
Sincerely,
Margery Arnold
We agree with you Margery and since this video was made over a year ago we have kept everything above the line. Thank you for your comment.
